Tonight! How to Keep Your Teens Safe From Substance Use!

The holidays are a busy time, but teen substance use doesn’t take a holiday! Come learn how you can keep your teens safe!

Moriches Bay in the kNOw is a volunteer, not-for-profit anti-substance abuse coalition comprised of parents and community members, school administrators, local law enforcement and other community agencies. We are working to educate parents, prevent substance use among our youth, and ultimately end the negative influence of illegal substance use in our communities.

Monday, Dec. 7th at 7 p.m. in the Center Moriches HS library, 311 Frowein Road, Center Moriches, NY:

  • Tips on how to keep your teens safe this holiday season from substance use.
  • The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office’s “Shed the Meds” program will bring a safe way for residents to properly dispose of their unused medications and covered hypodermic needles. Proper disposal is essential to protect the environment, and ensure that old prescriptions don’t end up in the wrong hands. Bring your unused medications, etc., to the meeting for proper, safe disposal.
  • Free “Test, Don’t Guess” Drug Test Kits will be offered, and a discussion of this awareness program aimed at empowering parents to engage in active intervention if they suspect their children of having a drug problem.
  • News on the next Narcan training

Come find out how you can make a difference! Everyone working together will help keep our teens and community safe from substance abuse!
